Performance of a Combined Treatment Approach on the Elimination of Microbes from Poultry Slaughterhouse Wastewater

The efficiency of microbial inactivation in water is highly dependent on the type treatment technology used as well characteristics to be treated. Wastewater from poultry slaughterhouses carries a significant number microorganisms posing threats humans and environment general. Therefore, slaughterhouse wastewater requires use appropriate purification systems with high removal for agents. In this study, performance an integrated plant electrolysis, ultrafiltration, ultraviolet radiation principal units was investigated terms wastewater. case, total number, coliform bacteria, thermo-tolerant pathogenic flora, including salmonella coliphages, spores sulfite-reducing clostridia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus Enterococcus were studied. Approximately 63.95% 99.83% microbes removed by electrochemical unit 99.86% 100% achieved after combined treatment. However, aeruginosa only agent detected final effluent phenomenon suggests that upgrade may required achieve assurance aeruginosa.
